A two-year lifecycle, overwinters as a larva

Recorded size range of fully grown larvae - 16 to 20mm

Usual larval stage August to the second June

Adult forewing - around 8 to 9mm. Flies mid-June to mid-July

Larval foodplants : Larvae feed inside the stems of Sallows (Salix spp.)
