Double-brooded, overwinters as a larva

Usual larval stages June and September to April

Adult forewing - around 5.5 to 7.5mm. Flies May to June and July to September. In the north where it is single-brooded from May to July

Larval foodplants : The larvae feed on the unripe seeds in the pods of plants such as gorse (Ulex spp.) and broom (Cytisus spp.)
